This intriguing exhibit explores the life of John Antes, featuring his time as an instrument maker, composer and missionary, which are but a few of his accomplishments. The exhibit also encourages visitors to ask questions.
Antes is known as one of the earliest American-born Moravian composers. Among the artifacts featured are the 1759 Antes violin, extracts from letters written by Antes and other missionaries while in Egypt, a travel document issued to Antes, a copy of the book he wrote about Egypt in 1800.
